OnePlus 13T vs OnePlus 13 : In all honesty, the only question you ever really need to ask yourself when purchasing a new phone is—do you take the whole flagship or do you take the next best available? That’s precisely where the OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus 13T fit in. Both devices are thin, both have high-end specifications, but one is much more expensive. Is the OnePlus 13 worth it then, though, or will the 13T suffice for the average user? Let’s find out.
First, the build. Both of these phones feel and look high-end on the outside. You’ve got the OnePlus feel and look, slim body, and excellent feel in the hand. The 13 may maybe be able to utilize slightly higher-quality materials like a ceramic back or perhaps just an even higher-end aluminum frame. To the masses, though, this will not be an issue unless you are completely obsessed with luxury feel and look.
And last but not least, performance. OnePlus 13 has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, and the 13T its marginally less up-to-date Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Honestly, they’re both a speed junkie’s dream. You can game, video edit, and multitask on either of them without getting a sweat. However, if you do end up shelling out the most money for the newest and greatest fastest phone possible, then OnePlus 13 is your monarch.
Let’s talk about cameras. This is where OnePlus usually puts the new features in the flagship phone. The OnePlus 13 may very well have better sensors, even periscope zoom or better low-light photography. But the 13T, as good as it would be, might not quite be on par with the flagship in night shots or ultra-high-sharp zoom. If you are a photography buff who uses camera phones, the difference would be disorienting.
Battery and charge? Same on both again. Big battery, fast charge, and decent battery life. No huge winner in this department, which is some welcome news if you have to knuckle down.
So what’s the verdict then? If you can afford the best of the bunch and don’t need to be constantly swopping your phone after every 3 or 4 years, then OnePlus 13 might be the value-for-money choice. But if you can get a great, quick, and flashy phone without draining your pocket, then OnePlus 13T is the phone. You effectively get to enjoy 90 percent of the flagship but for a much cheaper price.
It basically boils down to what you value most—better premium performance and camera, or save a little money and don’t have to compromise that much. Either way, you’re getting a fantastic phone.
