iPhone 16 Series Price Increase : If you are someone who dreams of buying a new iPhone every year, this time things might take a surprising turn. And no, this isn’t a joke. The U.S. President Donald Trump has introduced a new tariff, and it’s turning out to be a real headache for companies like Apple.

Now think about it. Most iPhones are still made in China. And if importing products from there gets expensive due to heavy taxes, of course the prices are going to shoot up. According to a UBS report, the iPhone 16 Pro Max might get so expensive this year that you will seriously consider sticking with your old one.

How expensive, you ask?

Brace yourself, it could be up to Rs 30,000 more.
The base price of the Pro Max in the U.S. could rise to $1,550 (around Rs 1.33 lakh), while it’s currently sold at $1,199 (about Rs 1.03 lakh).
And if Apple decides to pass the full cost on to customers, the price could reach as high as $2,300, nearly Rs 2 lakhs.

Yes, you heard that right. That’s how wild things could get.

But that’s not all. Products imported from Vietnam and India are also facing new taxes, 46% on Vietnam and 27% on India. So overall, Apple’s manufacturing costs are going up from all sides.

Now for a tiny ray of hope. According to CNBC, if Apple manages to scale up production in India, the price of the Pro model might only increase by around Rs 10,000. Still a pinch, but not a total heart attack.

As for the expected prices of the rest of the iPhone 16 lineup, the base iPhone 16 could start at around Rs 66,000, the 16 Plus at Rs 74,000, the Pro arounRs 91,000, and the Pro Max at Rs 99,000. But remember, these are only estimated base prices. With taxes and other charges in India, the final prices could go even higher.

So the next time you start planning to buy the iPhone 16, maybe check your wallet twice.
Because this time, the “Pro Max” might just be Max in price too.
