iPhone 18 Pro: On hearing the name of iPhone, the first thing that comes to mind is its design and stylish look. And ever since Apple launched its new Dynamic Island feature with the iPhone 14 Pro, people’s eyes were fixed on it. Earlier this feature was limited to Pro models only, but with the arrival of iPhone 15, this feature started coming in normal models as well. But now the news that is coming is saying that perhaps this Dynamic Island may disappear completely in iPhone 18 Pro.
Beginning of the story of Dynamic Island
The U-shaped notch that used to come in earlier iPhones is now a thing of the past. Apple removed this notch and created a modern capsule shaped cutout, which they named Dynamic Island. But this was not just a design, but there was a thought behind it – to make the user experience interactive. This feature was created to show live activity, such as calls, music or app information, which was shown to the user by animating in this island. But still, initially people did not like this feature as much as Apple thought.
What is going to change in iPhone 18 Pro?
Now a fresh report has come from the Weibo post of China’s famous tipster Digital Chat Station, according to which Apple is now preparing to bring a new change with the iPhone 18 Pro series. This phone can be launched in 2026. According to the information, the iPhone 18 Pro will have a 6.27-inch display and the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a 6.86-inch OLED LTPO panel. Its resolution will also be close to 1.5K which will give a great visual experience.
Face ID now below the screen?
Now the real fun part is that Apple is going to use HIAA i.e. Hole-In-Active-Area technology in its new iPhone. This means that now only a small selfie camera hole will be visible on the screen, just like it is in many Android phones these days. But the Face ID sensors which were hidden inside the Dynamic Island till now, will now be fitted directly below the screen.
Imagine, the entire Face ID setup – which consists of IR camera, flood illuminator and sensors – will now be behind the screen, and yet it will perform as well as it is doing now. This will be a miracle of technology in itself, and this is also expected from a company like Apple.
Will Dynamic Island have ‘The End’?
Now the question arises that when Face ID goes down and only a small camera hole remains on top, then what will be the need of that Dynamic Island? Maybe Apple keeps it as a kind of animation, but it will no longer be needed because now the hardware itself has become smaller and less visible. That is, what was once considered the USP of the iPhone is now slowly moving towards disappearance.
iPhone 16e and old memories
By the way, the iPhone 16e that has come recently is the first Apple device that has left Touch ID and come on Face ID but Dynamic Island has not been given in it. That is, Apple is now bringing Face ID in its affordable models as well, but without Dynamic Island. This also clearly indicates that perhaps in the coming time Apple may say goodbye to this feature completely.
Next level technology
Now if Apple really moves Face ID below the screen and only a small camera hole remains, then it means that the company now wants to make the design even more clean and simple. Also, it is certain that this new feature will be available only in iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, that is, it is going to be a premium experience. Common iPhone users may get this feature after a few years.
What to expect in the end?
So if you are also one of those people who think of buying a new iPhone every year, then iPhone 18 Pro can be a big game changer. The departure of Dynamic Island and the arrival of Face ID below the screen, all this will once again make Apple different from Android, but this time it will also look somewhat like Android because the hole-punch display is the same that we have been seeing in Samsung and other brands.
So now just wait for 2026, when Apple may once again change the trend of the entire market with its next super smartphone.
