iPhone 17 Air: Apple introduces something new and unique in its iPhone lineup every year. And in 2025, the company is going to do something that has probably never been done till now – a new model, which will be named iPhone 17 Air. Yes, this time a new name is going to be added to the iPhone 17 series which was never heard before. Apple is preparing to present it as a super-slim, lightweight and premium design phone. And now the leaks and rumors that have come out about this phone have increased the excitement among the fans.

In this article, we will tell you every big thing related to iPhone 17 Air – its thin body, powerful processor, new camera setup and everything that makes it special.

It is going to be the thinnest iPhone

The biggest and most talked about thing about iPhone 17 Air is its super-slim design. According to the leak, this is going to be the thinnest iPhone ever – its thickness can be between just 5mm to 6mm (excluding the camera). This means that it will look very light and stylish to hold in the hand. The weight of the phone is also said to be around 145 grams, which will make it Apple’s lightest smartphone.

Apple can introduce this model in place of the ‘Plus’ version. That is, the iPhone 17 Plus which was expected to come earlier, can now be replaced by the iPhone 17 Air. This time the company is focusing on a phone that is big in size, but very light and slim in weight and thickness.

Making such a thin phone is not easy – it is a big challenge to accommodate hardware like battery and speakers in it. For this reason, Apple can use some new technologies in it like high-density silicon-carbon battery, which can give more power in less space. However, according to rumors, it may have only one speaker so that more space can be saved.

A19 Bionic Chip

iPhone 17 Air will be powered by Apple’s A19 Bionic chip – This chipset is built on new generation technology and is considered to be very strong in performance. Even though the A19 Pro chip will be given in the Pro model, the A19 Bionic will also be a very fast and efficient chip, which will make daily use, gaming and apps run smoothly.

This phone is expected to have 8GB of RAM, which will give you a smooth multitasking experience. That is, the iPhone 17 Air will be slightly lighter than the Pro models but will not lag behind in performance.

Camera setup

The camera setup in the iPhone 17 Air is also going to be special. Unlike the previous generation, this time it will have only one 48MP rear camera, but its quality and resolution are said to be very strong. The camera will be fitted in a horizontal camera bar that will span the entire width of the back – this design will look a bit like the iPhone 17 Pro Max but with fewer camera lenses.

The most interesting thing is that with the iPhone 17 Air, Apple is going to bring a new 24MP front camera to all its iPhone 17 models. This is a big upgrade, because till now only a 12MP front camera was available. This will now provide tremendous clarity in video calls, selfies and low-light photos.

Display and Battery

The iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch OLED display, which will be very bright and colorful. Some leaks have stated that it will also have a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate – this was previously only in the Pro models. With this, the feature of Always-On Display can also come, so that time and notifications will be visible without touching the screen.

Talking about the battery, a very big battery is not possible in such a thin phone, but Apple can give a high-density battery of about 2800mAh in it. This battery will be on special silicon-carbon technology, so that the phone can give good backup even in less space.

Price and launch date

Regarding the launch date of the iPhone 17 Air, it is expected that it will come in September 2025 along with the rest of the iPhone 17 series. Its price can start from $899 in the US, and its base variant can be launched in India for around ₹89,999. This phone will strike a balance between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro – which looks stylish, but does not weigh heavy on the pocket.
