Honor X9c 5G India Launch Teased, Amazon Availability Confirmed

Honor X9c: Honor has officially announced the imminent release of the Honor X9c 5G in India. The news follows months since early hints via teasers signaled a new X series phone back in February. Although the phone was initially set to be released earlier this year, the official launch is taking place now, and Amazon has been confirmed as an exclusive online partner for sales. As the Honor X9c has already been released worldwide in late 2024, we already know what the phone will feature.

Honor X9c Teased for India, Amazon to Sell

The company has not announced the specific launch date of the Honor X9c in India yet. But Honor has already confirmed that it will offer the smartphone exclusively through Amazon. Furthermore, the phone is now available on the official India website of Honor, which shows its complete specifications and design. The company has also asserted that it will enhance its after-sales customer service and support to prepare for this launch.

Full Specs Unveil a Camera-Oriented Mid-Ranger

The Honor X9c has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen that provides a 120Hz refresh rate, giving users a silky-smooth visual experience. Its underlying power comes from the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. Although this chip is somewhat old, its initial release was in 2022—it still provides fairly good performance, but not leading-class. RAM and storage sizes are diverse, with 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB options.

Camera and Battery Features Provide Value

Photography enthusiasts would love the 108MP main camera with OIS, combined with a 5MP wide-angle camera. The phone is capable of recording 4K videos and has a 10x digital zoom. At the front, there is a 16MP front camera for selfies. Another key highlight is the humongous 6,600mAh battery that is compatible with 66W fast charging, promising that the phone will last long enough without extended downtimes.

Software and Color Options Announced

The global variant was released with MagicOS 8.0 developed on Android 14, but the Indian variant will come preloaded with MagicOS 9.0 developed on Android 15. This way, the users receive the latest software experience straight out of the box. The phone comes in two colors: Jade Cyan and Titanium Black, both of which provide the phone with a premium look.

Is the Honor X9c Worth Waiting For?

Although the Honor X9c is looking good with its huge battery and high-quality camera, the outdated Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor could be an issue for people expecting more performance. While it is expected to cost somewhere around Rs 25,999, like its successor, Honor X9b, it could find itself struggling in the face of newer devices like Vivo T4 or Motorola Edge 60 Stylus with newer processors.

Verdict: Wait for the Price Announcement

It’s hard to recommend the X9c at this point until Honor reveals the final price in India. Camera and battery specifications are great, but performance-driven users might be better off looking elsewhere. That being said, if it’s priced competitively, the Honor X9c can still be a solid mid-range player.
