Galaxy Z Fold 7: Samsung is gearing up to unveil a game-changer at its July 2025 Unpacked event. The fresh Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are set to make heads turn with drastically thinner bezels and larger screens. These svelte overhauls could put Samsung light-years ahead of the rest in foldables, giving us a glimpse of what could be the most refined foldables yet.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Display and Design
Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature bezels of just 1mm in thickness, thinner even than the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 1.32mm thickness. This is a significant design improvement over the 1.9mm bezels of the Fold 6. When unfolded, the Fold 7 measures 158.4 x 143.1mm tall and wide, taller and wider than the earlier version. This extra size is for a larger 8.2-inch inner AMOLED display, larger than the Fold 6’s 7.6-inch display.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Camera and Performance
According to reputable leaker @TheGalox_, Fold 7 will come with a 200MP primary sensor, making it one of the flagship’s powerhouse cameras. Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will power the device, and it is anticipated to enhance overall performance and efficiency. These leaks suggest that Samsung is placing ultimate priority on camera performance and internal flagship-grade provisioning.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 Display and Design
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 also gets a major design makeover. It has thinner outer screen bezels of just 1.2mm, making room for a larger 4-inch cover screen, a big upgrade from the Z Flip 6’s 3.4 inches. Its inner screen also gets upgraded, from 6.7 to 6.85 inches. Its folded body also becomes thinner, measuring just 6.9mm, becoming even easier to carry in the pocket.
Software and Durability Features
Both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will sport One UI 8 as operating software, on the Android 16 platform. Samsung is going whole hog when it comes to seriousness of approach regarding durability too, with both likely to enjoy an IP68 rating for resistance against water and dust. Less screen creasing further refines the foldable experience, both its overall look and feel.
Battery Capacity Concerns
While the Fold 7 boasts better hardware, by 2025 its 4,400mAh battery might look less competitive. Other manufacturers using high-density silicon-carbon batteries now, Samsung’s adoption of ordinary tech can be disappointing to heavy users. This could be driven by trying to maintain thinness in the device but surely raises questions on battery life from day to day.
Price and Launch Expectations
Both will be unveiled likely by Samsung during the July 2025 Unpacked event. Galaxy Z Fold 7’s estimated starting price should be around $1,899, and Samsung is once again following in line with a typical high-end price for the foldables. The enhanced screens and simplified looks seem to prepare Samsung to corner a solid share of the folding segment.
