The story picks up exactly where the first season left off. The saga of Avinash Mishra (Randeep Hooda)—the fearless officer of the UP STF—which began in the streets of Lucknow, has now reached the rebels of the *beehad* (the dacoits of the Chambal ravines).

**A Cocktail of Politics and Crime:** The nexus between politicians and criminals—which was merely skimmed over in the previous season—is explored in much greater depth this time around.

**The Enemy Within:** While Avinash Mishra and his team are busy eliminating criminals, the real twist arrives when it is revealed that the enemy is not just on the outside, but is actually lurking within their very own department. How Avinash exposes the traitor hiding amongst his own ranks constitutes the true USP of this season. The greatest strength of this series lies in its star-studded cast. Every single character has been given ample screen time and significance.

Urvashi Rautela’s start in the role of Avinash’s wife, Poonam Mishra, feels a bit slow; however, she delivers a commendable performance that aligns well with the demands of the story. Meanwhile, Amit Sial breathes life into the character of ‘Sheikh’ through his acting prowess. He appears incredibly commanding on screen.

 The Brilliance of the Supporting Cast

Despite having limited dialogue, Abhimanyu Singh—playing the villain—manages to instill fear solely through his expressions and eyes. Furthermore, actors such as Rajneesh Duggal, Shalin Bhanot, Zakir Hussain, and Freddy Daruwala have done full justice to their brief yet pivotal roles. Director Neeraj Pathak kicks off the series in spectacular fashion. For the first six episodes, the narrative unfolds in a very measured and steady manner. Every character is given the opportunity to develop, ensuring that the audience remains hooked to the series.

Where Did the Series Lose Momentum?

The real flaws in the storyline begin to surface after the seventh episode. In the final few episodes, the creators appeared so rushed to wrap up the story that while the pacing of the series accelerated, its soul seemed to get lost along the way. By the end, even Randeep Hooda appears somewhat weary, and the serious issues—which were introduced with such high suspense in the beginning—are resolved in a rather perfunctory manner.

If you enjoy *desi* (rooted) crime-thriller stories set against a UP backdrop—complete with punchy dialogue and explosive action—then this series is an absolute must-watch.
