New Harry Potter TV Series: Nick Frost as beloved Hogwarts groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Professor Quirinus Quirrel and Paul Whitehouse as caretaker Argus Filch have also been cast.
Who are these new stars?
All three of these young actors, who replace Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who immortalised these characters in films, are new to the industry.
Scottish actor McLaughlin has starred alongside Nick Frost and Gold Rosewall in the Sky comedy ‘Grow’, and will also appear in the BBC’s upcoming action adventure series ‘Gifted’. Stanton, on the other hand, played Matilda in ‘Matilda: The Musical’ in the West End. This demonstrates that these young actors possess considerable talent and have already shown their skills.
The author’s pen creates magic again!
To top it all, bestselling author J.K. Rowling herself will serve as the show’s executive producer. HBO has said that the series will be “a faithful adaptation” of her books. That means you’ll be able to see all your favourite moments from the books in even more depth onscreen!
The TV series will run for at least a decade, which means the story of the books will be explored in even more detail without the time constraints of the movies. Imagine how many new things there will be to learn and see!
When will the magic begin?
Filming is expected to begin this summer at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK, and the first part of the series could air on HBO Max as early as 2026.
