UGC NET 2025 City Slip : An important update has come out for the candidates going to appear in the UGC NET June 2025 exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) may release the UGC NET 2025 exam city intimation slip this week. This slip will be made available on the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Through this, students will be able to know in which city they are going to get the examination center. However, the full address, time and other important details of the exam center will be given in the admit card, which will be released after the city slip.
When will the exam be held and in how many shifts
UGC NET 2025 exam will be conducted from June 25 to June 29. This exam will be held in two shifts daily. The first shift will run from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will run from 3 pm to 6 pm. NTA has already released the day-wise schedule for all subjects, so that students can see the date and shift of their subject in advance.
How to download exam city information
As soon as the city intimation slip is released on the website, students will be able to see it by logging in with the help of their application number and date of birth. For this, first of all one has to go to the website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. By clicking on the link found on the homepage, students will fill in their details and then their city slip will appear on the screen. With this they will be able to know in which city their exam will be held.
Will the city slip give entry to the exam center?
It is important to know here that the city intimation slip is only for giving information about the exam city, it is not an admit card. It will not give entry to the exam center. Admit card will be mandatory to appear in the exam, in which the name of the exam center, full address, reporting time and other instructions will be given. The admit card is issued two or three days before the exam.
Why is UGC NET conducted?
UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year in June and December. Its main purpose is to check the eligibility of candidates across the country so that they can become Assistant Professor or prove eligible for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Apart from this, this exam is also valid for admission to PhD programs.
Important dates that students should remember
The last date to apply for the UGC NET June 2025 exam was May 12 and the last date for depositing the fee was fixed as May 13. After this, the correction window was also opened on May 14 and 15. Now the exam dates have been fixed from June 25 to 29, and the exam city information is being shared this week.
Estimation based on past experience
Like other exams conducted by NTA, the city information for UGC NET is also released about a week before the exam. For example, the city slip for the second session of JEE Main 2025 was released on March 20 while the exam was held between April 2 and 9. Similarly, the city slip of NEET UG 2025 was available by April 26 and the exam was held on May 4. Following the same pattern, the city details for UGC NET 2025 are also expected to be available this week.
