School Summer Holidays 2026 – Delhi Closed Till July 1, UP Till June 15, Complete State-Wise Holiday List

School Holiday:- North India is currently experiencing a severe heatwave. Intense sunlight and hot gusts of wind have made it difficult for people to step outside their homes. The sky has been blazing with bright sunlight since morning. Regions including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Bihar are currently witnessing scorching heat. However, the Meteorological Department has also issued warnings for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in certain states. Meanwhile, summer vacations have been officially announced for schools across most states. School timings have also been revised in several districts.

School Holidays in Bihar
In view of the prevailing heat, the administration in Bihar has implemented significant changes regarding school operations. According to an order issued by the Patna District Administration, all classes up to Grade 5 will remain completely suspended until May 26. Conversely, classes for students in Grades 6 through 8 will be conducted only until 10:30 AM. The administration stated that this decision was taken to ensure that children are not exposed to the intense midday sun and hot winds. Generally, summer vacations across Bihar are scheduled from June 1 to June 20.

School Holidays in Uttar Pradesh
Summer vacations have been announced for all primary, upper-primary, and secondary schools in the state. A holiday period has been declared for schools here, effective from May 20, 2026, to June 15, 2026. During this period, all recognised schools will remain closed for a total of 27 days. Until when will schools remain closed in various states?
In view of the severe heatwave prevailing across several states, a new schedule for school holidays has been released. In Delhi, schools will remain closed from May 11 to July 1. Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, the holidays will run from May 17 to June 20. Additionally, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are set to observe summer vacations from April 24 to June 11. In Punjab, the holidays will extend from May 25 to July 1. Schools in Haryana will remain closed from June 1 to June 30.
