Jharkhand TET 2026: Good news has emerged for candidates aspiring to become teachers. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) in Ranchi has extended the application deadline for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 until June 2, 2026. Consequently, candidates who, for any reason, have not yet completed the application form now have an excellent opportunity to do so.

Once the application submission period concludes, the JAC Board will open a correction window. Candidates who may have made errors while filling out the form will be able to make online corrections during this period.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this examination, a candidate must possess one of the following qualifications: Class 12th pass with D.El.Ed/BTC/B.El.Ed/2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education); Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; Graduation with a Diploma (D.El.Ed)/B.Ed; Graduation or Post-Graduation with B.Ed; Shiksha Shastri (Regular); 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.El.Ed; B.Ed (Special Education); or Graduation with a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education), among others. To apply, the candidate’s minimum age—calculated as of August 1, 2026—must be at least 21 years. An additional 9-year relaxation has been granted for the upper age limit.

Application Fee

For candidates applying for a single examination paper, the fee is ₹1,300 for the General, OBC, and EWS categories. Candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories are required to pay ₹700. For candidates belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), the application fee has been fixed at ₹500. Additionally, candidates in the General, OBC, or EWS categories who apply for both levels of the examination are required to pay a fee of ₹1,500.
