CBSE Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented a new rule that will apply equally to all schools affiliated with the CBSE. The board has mandated that all schools appoint career counsellors. This decision was taken to reduce the academic pressure on students. According to information shared by the CBSE board, “All CBSE schools will be required to appoint one regular counselling and wellness teacher or social-emotional counsellor for every 500 students. It has also been made mandatory to have career counselors for students in classes 9 to 12.”
The CBSE took this decision after a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Rajasthan High Court in July 2025. The petition raised concerns about increased academic pressure, mental stress, and a lack of career guidance for students, and the court sought a response from the board.
According to media reports, the Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to release the admit cards for regular students of classes 10th and 12th very soon. The board usually makes the admit cards available a few days before the exams, and the same procedure is likely to be followed this year.
Board Exams to Begin on February 7th
The board exams for classes 10th and 12th are scheduled to begin on February 17, 2026. Therefore, it is expected that the admit cards for regular students will be released approximately five to six days before the exams begin. CBSE students are eagerly awaiting their admit cards.
It is worth noting that the board has already released the admit cards for private candidates for the CBSE Board Exam 2026. This clearly indicates that the admit cards for regular students will also be released very soon.
The admit card is the most important document for all students appearing in the board exams. No student will be allowed to enter the examination centre without an admit card. Students are required to carry their admit cards with them every day of the examination.
What information will be available on the admit card? The admit card contains the student’s name, roll number, examination centre address, subject-wise exam dates, photograph, and important instructions. Students are advised to carefully check all this information as soon as they receive their admit card.
