CBSE Board Result 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) typically releases its results slightly later compared to other examination boards. As a general trend, the CBSE Board releases the results for Classes 10 and 12 in May. This year, too, it is anticipated that the Class 10 and Class 12 results will be released in May. Once the results are declared, a download link will be activated on the official website, cbse.gov.in, where students can check their results by using their Roll Number, School Number, Centre Number, and Admit Card ID.
Meanwhile, a notification was recently issued regarding the second board examination for CBSE Class 10 in 2026. This notification outlines the complete schedule and guidelines for the submission of the ‘List of Candidates’ (LOC). The Board will conduct this second board examination in May 2026. Through this examination, students can easily improve their scores in up to three subjects.
Furthermore, the Board has now clarified that students appearing for the Class 10 board examination will not receive a passing certificate immediately after the first board examination. Instead, this certificate will be sent to students’ DigiLocker accounts only after the second board examination concludes. According to the Board’s new system, only the marksheet will be issued after the results of the first Class 10 examination are announced. This marksheet will be sent directly to the students’ DigiLocker accounts.
The Board has explicitly stated that if a student chooses not to appear for the second board examination, they will be granted admission by their respective school based on this very marksheet. No school will be permitted to refuse admission to such students. The passing certificate will be issued to students only after the second board examination has been successfully concluded. Upon receiving this certificate, students must submit it to their respective schools.

Who is eligible to appear for the CBSE Class 10 ‘Second Chance’ Examination?
Only those students who have appeared for the first board examination and have taken examinations in at least three subjects are eligible to participate in the CBSE Class 10 ‘Second Chance’ examination. Students who were absent from, or failed, three or more subjects in the first examination will not be eligible for the second examination.
- All students who have passed and are eligible may appear for the second Board examination in any three subjects—chosen from Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages—in order to improve their performance.
- Please note that the syllabus for this examination will remain the same as that for your first main examination.
CBSE Class 10th Second Exam Schedule:
The submission of the List of Candidates follows a three-phase schedule.
The first phase will run from March 18, 2026, to March 31, 2026.
The second phase will commence on the day immediately following the declaration of the main examination results and will continue for 5 days.
The third phase will begin two days after the 7th day following the results’ declaration.
CBSE 10th Exam Fees:
A fee of ₹320 per subject has been prescribed for the CBSE Class 10th examination. Additionally, for students from Nepal, the fee is ₹1,100 per subject.
