BHU Launches 63 New SWAYAM Courses : Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has taken a special initiative for the 2025 academic session. This time the teachers of BHU have together prepared 63 new online courses which will be available on the SWAYAM platform. The registration process for these courses has started and classes will start from 21 July and 18 August. Interested students can register themselves by visiting swayam.gov.in/INI.

Course duration and subjects

The duration of these courses varies – some are for four weeks, some for eight weeks and some will run for a full twelve weeks. The special thing is that both traditional and modern subjects have been included in these courses. Subjects like commerce, management, arts, humanities, sociology, life sciences, psychology, law, engineering and Ayurveda will be taught in it. The examinations will start from October 2025.

What is SWAYAM?

SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is a major scheme of the Ministry of Education, which aims to provide free and quality online education to every corner of the country. Through this platform, students from all over the country can join any institute and study, that too without any fee.

BHU’s growing role

BHU had prepared 37 SWAYAM courses in the last two sessions and now this time it has taken a big step by adding 63 new courses. In view of this activity and contribution of the university, the Ministry of Education of the Government of India has entrusted BHU with the responsibility of “National Coordinator” (NC) on the SWAYAM platform. This responsibility is especially for those institutions which have the status of “Institutes of National Importance (INIs)”, such as IITs and Central Universities.

Dr. Ashutosh Mohan gets important responsibility

Dr. Ashutosh Mohan, associated with the Institute of Management Studies of BHU, has been appointed as the National Coordinator for SWAYAM. Now under his leadership, BHU will look after the quality and operation of online courses of more than 160 institutes of national importance across the country. This is a big achievement not only for BHU but also for the digital education system of the entire country.

New news portal also launched

Recently BHU has launched its special news webpage – news.bhu.ac.in. On this webpage, many information like news related to the university, steps taken for the welfare of the students, schemes related to the development of teachers, achievements of the institute, projects, patents and video gallery are being updated regularly.
