WEATHER UPDATE: These days the northern part of the country is in the grip of extreme heat and heat wave. The situation is such that even leaving the house has become difficult. The temperature reached 49 degrees Celsius in Phalodi, Rajasthan.

The temperature reached 46.3 degrees in Rajgarh of Madhya Pradesh and 43.8 degrees in Orai of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the maximum temperature was recorded at 45.4 degrees Celsius in Sirsa, Haryana.

The heat wave also continues in Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh also. According to IMD, heat wave is predicted in many parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, different parts of Western Uttar Pradesh.

Cyclonic storm threat

According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal will turn into a cyclonic storm on Saturday, May 25.

At present it is situated at a distance of about 650 kilometres from the coastal areas of West Bengal. After midnight on 26th May, this storm will pass through neighbouring countries Bangladesh and West Bengal.

Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in the coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha. Apart from this, wind can also blow at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometres per hour.

Heat wave in Jammu and Kashmir, rain in South India

Along with this, the Meteorological Department has predicted heat wave in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in most of the states of South India. The sky will be cloudy in Bengaluru on Saturday and the maximum temperature can reach 30 degrees.

At the same time, the maximum temperature in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, is likely to be up to 37 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of rain in Chennai today.

At the same time, the maximum temperature in Kerala on Saturday can be 29 degrees Celsius. There is also a forecast of rain with thunderstorms. The temperature in Hyderabad can reach 40 degrees.
