Will Farmers Who Farm on Others’ Land Receive PM Kisan Money? Know The Latest Government Update

PM Kisan Rule Update: To provide financial assistance to the farmers of the country, the central government is implementing the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. Under this scheme, the government provides an amount of ₹6,000 to farmers every year. This amount is transferred to the farmers’ accounts in three instalments of ₹2,000 each.

The Indian government has established specific rules for the beneficiaries of this scheme, determining who can and cannot take advantage of it. As a result, farmers often have various questions about the scheme. One such question is whether farmers who cultivate on others’ land are eligible to benefit from the PM Kisan Scheme.

Eligibility Based on Land Records

Under the PM Kisan scheme, benefits are provided only to farmers whose names are registered in the agricultural land records. When applying, the land record must be attached as proof. The ownership rights of the farmers should be clearly defined in the records. Additionally, the farmer must complete e-KYC on the PM Kisan portal, and their bank account should be linked to Aadhaar. The bank account must also be connected to the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).

Over 11 Crore Farmers Benefited

Launched on February 24, 2019, the PM Kisan scheme aims to financially assist farmers across India. Over 11 crore farmers have received more than ₹3.04 lakh crore in payments so far. The day after being sworn in as Prime Minister for his third term, PM Narendra Modi approved the transfer of ₹2,000 to farmers’ accounts. Through the 17th instalment of PM Kisan, 9.3 crore farmers benefited, with approximately ₹20,000 crore distributed.

Mandatory eKYC for PM Kisan Beneficiaries

eKYC is mandatory for all farmers registered in the PM Kisan Scheme. OTP-based eKYC is available on the PM Kisan portal, or farmers can visit the nearest CSC centres for biometric-based eKYC. If you do not receive the PM Kisan instalment, you can reach out to pmkisan-ict@gov.in for assistance.
