The central government can soon constitute the 8th Pay Commission. According to a private report, the central government can soon announce the appointment of the chairman and members of the new pay commission.

Anyway, it has been more than 7 months since the Modi government approved the formation of the new pay commission. The 7th Pay Commission will complete its ten years on 31 December 2025. That is, if the tradition is believed, then the 8th Pay Commission is likely to be implemented from 1 January 2026. But the delay in formation indicates its delay in implementation.

The government gave shocking information in the Rajya Sabha.

When Sagarika Ghosh, a member of the Rajya Sabha, asked a question about the formation of the 8th Pay Commission by the Central Government, then big information came out of the government. Responding to the question, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that the government has received suggestions from various stakeholders. It will issue an official notification in due time.

Apart from this, when the member asked a question about the members and chairman of PAN, Pankaj Chaudhary said that after the notification of the 8th Pay Commission is issued, the appointment of the chairman and members is considered certain. When the state member asked about the progress of ToR, the ministry has not set any limit for the commission to submit its recommendations.

How much can DA increase?

The central government can increase the DA of central employees by 3 to 4 per cent. After this, DA will increase to 58 to 59 per cent. A bumper increase can be the salaries of central employees. Due to this, a record-breaking increase in salary is expected.

The increased DA rate will be effective from July 1, 2025. Anyway, the government has been increasing DA twice a year. Its rates are implemented from January 1 and July 1.
