Know about PAN 2.0

Important difference between PAN 2.0 and the old PAN card

According to the central government, the PAN cards issued from the year 2017 have a QR code. According to the PAN 2.0 project, the QR code in the cards that will be made will be more advanced and dynamic than before. It will show updated information from the database in real time. With this new QR code, it will also be easy to check the validity of the PAN and confirm the identity of the cardholder. On scanning it, the card holder’s photo, signature, your name, parents’ nnamesand date of birth information will also be visible.

Is it necessary to get a new PAN card?

If you have an old PAN card, then do not worry at all. Even after PAN 2.0 is introduced, the old PAN cards will remain fully valid. This has been clarified by the government. Old PAN card holders don’t need to get a new PAN card. If your PAN card is from the year 2017 and does not have a QR code, then consider it necessary to get it. This will not cause any problem.
