However, to avail this service, it is necessary to link any one of Aadhaar, PAN and bank account with UAN account.
After linking Aadhaar or PAN to the UAN account, the subscriber just needs to give a missed call. After this, he will get the information of the last EPF contribution and Provident Fund (PF) balance.
Know the step by step process
To know information related to EPFO like PF balance or last contribution details, you have to follow some easy steps. First of all, ensure that your mobile number is registered and activated on the unified portal of EPFO along with your UAN (Universal Account Number).
After this, at least one KYC document from bank account, Aadhaar or PAN should be updated with your UAN. When both these conditions are fulfilled, give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
This call will be disconnected automatically after two rings and you will not have to pay any charge for this. Shortly after the call, you will get information about your PF account balance and last contribution.
Information will also be available through SMS
EPFO’s SMS service is also similar to missed call. UAN activated members can also get information about PF balance and last contribution by sending an SMS to 7738299899 from their registered mobile number.
For this you have to type EPFOHO UAN followed by the first three letters of the language of your choice. For example, if you want the information in Telugu, then type EPFOHO UAN TEL and send it to 7738299899.
