UPI New Record: At present, everyone is using UPI. In a way, UPI has become an integral part of people. With the help of UPI, people make every small and big payment anywhere and anytime in a few seconds. Let us tell you, in 2025, the use of UPI in the country is increasing even more rapidly. A report by the country’s largest bank, government bank SBI, has revealed that UPI has now become the backbone of the country’s digital payment system.

How much growth has happened in value
If media reports are to be believed, in January 2025, the value of daily UPI transactions was Rs 75743 crore. Whereas in July, it has increased to Rs 80919 crore. In the month of August, it has seen a lot of growth. This average has reached Rs 90 thousand 446 crore daily.
How much has the volume increased? Apart from value, a strong increase has been seen in the volume. Between January and August, the transaction has increased by about 127 million to 675 million rupees. This means that from the smallest payments to the largest transactions, the country still trusts UPI the most.
What is the situation in the banking sector?
SBI has become the largest remitting bank. SBI has done 5.2 billion transactions this year. This is about 3.4 times more than the largest bank. On the other hand, if we talk about Yes Bank, it has become the largest remitting bank. Through which about 8 billion transactions have taken place. This trade shows that while public sector banks are ahead in remitting money, private banks are moving ahead rapidly in receiving money.

State-wise data released
State-wise data has been released through NPCI. In this, data on state-wise transactions of UPI has been released. In this, Maharashtra has become the number-1 state with a share of 9.8 percent. After this, Karnataka is in second place with a share of 5.5 percent. At the same time, Uttar Pradesh is among the top 5 states with a share of 5.3 percent.
