UP Government to Deposit ₹1 Lakh in Daughters’ Accounts, A Big Gift

New Delhi: The central and state governments have been providing benefits to women and daughters for quite some time. Many states are implementing special schemes for this half of the population. The government has announced an increase in financial assistance under the Kanya Vivah Sahayata Yojana, run by the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The state government will now assist ₹65,000 per couple for normal marriages, ₹75,000 per couple for inter-caste marriages, and ₹85,000 per couple for mass marriages.

Benefits under other schemes
In addition to the Kanya Vivah Yojana, a benefit of 5 lakh rupees will be provided in case of accidental death. It also provides medical assistance of 2 lakh rupees and education assistance of up to 25,000 rupees. In the last five years, the Board has provided marriage assistance of more than 2 lakh rupees to worker families. Along with this increase, more than 50,000 beneficiaries are also expected in the coming financial year.
