Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented this year’s budget. She has announced several new initiatives in this budget to support women.

Expanding educational infrastructure for women, providing funding in business, creating new channels for women to showcase various initiatives – these will help women.

The participation of girls in the field of education needs to be strengthened. Along with this, economic connectivity is also needed. Not only urban or suburban women, but also rural women need to be empowered.

Parents worry about sending girls to study far from home. Finding good accommodation at low cost is a big problem. The Union Minister has paid attention to this. She has also made new announcements in the budget.

STEM districts, where emphasis is placed on science, technology, engineering and mathematics, will be monitored so that girls do not face any obstacles in pursuing higher education. Hostels will be built near colleges and universities where girls can study at low cost. Girls from villages or rural areas will benefit in this regard.

If there is a facility of accommodation for girls at low cost near colleges and universities, girls will be more enthusiastic about higher education. More girls will join the cause of studying well to build a long-term career.

The central government aims to make girls financially self-reliant. For this, the Lakhpati Didi scheme has been expanded by launching SHE Marts. As a result, women in self-help groups will be able to earn money by selling various things they have made more easily.

To encourage more women to take initiative in the business sector, the ‘She-Mark’ badge has been announced. Along with this, financial assistance has also been provided. Through this, women will be able to engage in business more fully, that too under their own ownership.

1.5 lakh multi-skilled caregivers will be trained. Many of them are women. They will be trained under various programs of the National Skill Qualification Framework. As a result, new job opportunities will increase in the health and service sectors.

In the 2026 Budget, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has focused on making women financially independent, improving their educational qualifications, and ensuring their clear inclusion in the financial infrastructure.
