UIDAI’s New Feature Creates a Stir, You’ll Be Amazed

UIDAI NEW FACILITY:  Today, the Aadhaar card has become an extremely important document. Without it, it’s difficult to carry out any government or non-government work. Verification is done through the Aadhaar card, for which an OTP is sent to the mobile phone. If your mobile number is not linked or updated with your Aadhaar, you don’t need to worry.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organisation that issues Aadhaar cards, has added a very useful new feature to the Aadhaar app. With the help of this feature, people can now update their mobile numbers directly through the Aadhaar app. This facility has proven to be a boon for people. After its introduction, the need to visit an Aadhaar service centre has almost been eliminated.

Previously, people had to go to an Aadhaar centre to change their mobile number linked to their Aadhaar, as it was considered a sensitive process. However, this took a lot of time and caused considerable inconvenience to the elderly, disabled people, and those living in remote areas. UIDAI’s aim with this new facility is to simplify this process, allowing anyone to make this important update from the comfort of their home using their smartphone.

How does the new feature work?

According to UIDAI, this process is completely secure and simple.

First, the user has to verify themselves through an OTP, which is sent to the old or new mobile number.

After that, facial recognition is performed using the face authentication feature available in the Aadhaar app.

This two-step verification ensures security and provides convenience to the user.

UIDAI has clarified that with the introduction of this facility, neither any documents are required nor is there any need to stand in line at an Aadhaar centre. This means the entire process can be completed through the mobile app.
