Indian Railways: Every day, a significant number of individuals utilize Indian Railways for travel across the country. The majority of these passengers secure their tickets online via the IRCTC website or various mobile applications. Additionally, many opt to purchase tickets directly from railway ticket counters. Tickets acquired at these counters can also be cancelled online.

On Friday, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav made an important announcement regarding ticket cancellations for those who purchase from counters. He emphasized that while the online cancellation feature offers convenience, passengers must still visit the reservation counter to obtain a refund. Vaishnav stated that tickets purchased at railway counters can now be cancelled from home through the IRCTC website or by calling 139.

However, to receive a refund, passengers are still required to go to the reservation center.
