Air Pollution– Big news for vehicle owner’s. The level of air pollution in Delhi increases significantly during the winter season. The Air Quality Index increases so much that breathing in the open is quite risky. During this time people have to face many breathing problems. The problem of air pollution in Delhi has been there for many years. Many big decisions were taken by the Delhi government in the past years with the aim of reducing pollution, even after that the problem of pollution remains the same.
In view of the problem of air pollution in Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken a big decision. Under this, from November 1, 2025, only BS6, CNG and electric vehicles will get entry in Delhi. This rule will be implemented especially keeping in mind the commercial vehicles coming from outside.
Automatic number plate recognition cameras will be installed to prevent old and polluting vehicles from entering Delhi. These cameras will be installed at all entry points and petrol pumps of Delhi. These cameras will be able to immediately find out whether the vehicle is old or new by scanning the number plate of the vehicles.
If a diesel vehicle is 10 years old and a petrol vehicle is 15 years old, then they will be considered end of life. Due to this, after November 1, old diesel and petrol vehicles spreading pollution will not be allowed entry within Delhi.
These vehicles will be tracked and stopped. Apart from this, these vehicles will not get fuel at petrol pumps. It is worth noting that this rule will not apply to vehicles registered in Delhi. However, this rule will be applicable on vehicles coming from outside. How effective this step of the government proves to be at the ground level to curb air pollution in Delhi will be known only after November 1.
