Have you ever thought how much money your daughter can get if you save just ₹1,000 every month? This small saving under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, run by the Central Government, can be very helpful when your daughter grows up. The good news is that the government has not changed the interest rate of this scheme. A decision on this was made just a day ago.

The government has kept the interest rate fixed at 8.2%, which is very good. If you haven’t yet opened an account in your daughter’s name under this scheme, you should do it now. You will still get the benefit of the current interest rate.

You can start an account in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana with just ₹250. In this scheme, you need to deposit money for 15 years, but you will get the full amount after 21 years. To know how to apply for the scheme and what the rules are, you can check the full details under ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana’
