SpiceJet says that travelers will not be needed to take a paper boarding card when they check in at the airport. They will now prepare their boarding pass on WhatsApp. Through the reduction of paper use, this airline program would not only shorten check-in wait times but also encourage eco-friendly travel. According to SpiceJet, this is the first time an airline has offered boarding passes based on WhatsApp at airport check-in desks.

Let us inform you that up to June 2025 of this year, over 90 lakh paper boardings had been produced at different Indian airports, despite the availability of web check-in and Digi Yatra. Around six tons of carbon emissions were caused by this.

SpiceJet plans to soon launch this paperless boarding option at other Indian airports.
