Solar Pump Subsidy- Good news for farmer brothers has come from Madhya Pradesh. The state government has announced to provide solar pumps to farmers at very cheap rates under the Pradhan Mantri Krishak Mitra Surya Yojana. The objective of this scheme is that farmers can now use solar energy for irrigation in their fields and be completely free from the worry of power shortage or bills.

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has also launched a special online portal cmsolarpump.mp.gov.in for this scheme, where farmers can apply directly. This initiative of the government will not only solve the electricity problem, but will also make farming easier and profitable for farmers.

The state government is providing solar pumps ranging from 5 horse power (HP) to 10 HP to farmers at 90% subsidy. A 5 HP solar pump costing Rs 3.30 lakh will be available to farmers for just Rs 30,000. A 7.5 HP pump costing Rs 4.15 lakh will be available for just Rs 41,000. Whereas, a 10 HP pump costing around Rs 5.80 lakh will be available to farmers for only Rs 58,000.

Irrigation water will reach every village

The government’s goal is to provide irrigation water to every village and increase the income of farmers. For this, the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project has been started in the Gwalior-Chambal region. The Chief Minister also said that currently 55 lakh hectares of land is irrigated in the state, which will soon be increased to 100 lakh hectares.
