Silver Rate Weekly: Gold and silver prices are fluctuating daily. Gold prices sometimes fall and sometimes rise. For the past several days, gold and silver prices have been declining. Before the budget presentation, gold and silver rates had set records, but over the past few days, they have been crashing. Looking at the changes in gold and silver prices last week, silver is now more than Rs 1.70 lakh below its high. As for gold rates, it has fallen by more than Rs 38,000 per 10 grams.

How much cheaper is silver?
Looking at past data, in the last days of January, silver prices had crossed Rs 4 lakh. However, since then, silver prices have been continuously falling. After falling over the five trading days of last week, silver reached the level of Rs 2,49,499 per kg. This means silver has become cheaper by Rs 1,70,549.

Gold prices have fallen
On January 29, 2026, 24-karat gold with an April 2nd expiry had risen to Rs 1,93,096 per 10 grams, its lifetime high, but then the decline began. Last Friday, the futures price of gold fell to Rs 1,55,050 per 10 grams, making gold cheaper by Rs 28,046 per 10 grams.

It is worth noting that the gold and silver rates released by IBJA do not include the 3 per cent GST and making charges, which have to be paid separately. After adding these, the price of gold and silver increases even further.
