SBI- Big news for SBI customers. If you are a customer of the country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), and conduct transactions through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), then this news is important for you. The bank has announced on its official exchange account that UPI services will be temporarily suspended for a total of 45 minutes, from 12:15 am to 1:00 am on September 21, 2025.

The bank stated that customers may experience difficulties making regular UPI payments during this time. However, the bank stated that UPI Lite services will remain operational, allowing small transactions to continue without interruption. SBI apologized to customers for the inconvenience and assured them that this shutdown is only temporary.

What is UPI Lite?
