New Delhi: New guidelines have been issued to address the issue of withdrawing money from ATMS. It is often seen that when you go to withdraw cash from a bank ATM, only small denomination notes are available. That means most of the notes come out of 500 only, but do you know that this is not going to happen now?

Now you will easily get notes of 100 and 200 rupees, so there will be no problem. The Indian Register Bank has taken this big decision. The RBI has issued these guidelines through a circular.

Banks and white label ATM operators will need to implement this instruction in a phased manner. Anyway, white label ATMS work like ATMS of government and private banks.

What is special in the RBI’s circular

If you review the circular from the RBI, it contains essential information. The circular states that this decision has been taken to increase the public’s access to these frequently used banknotes. According to the RBI, it will now be necessary for all banks and white label ATM operators to ensure that their ATMS also dispense Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes regularly.

It stated that by September 30, 2025, 75 per cent of all ATMS (Automated Teller Machines) should dispense at least one cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 denomination banknotes. In the next phase, by March 31, 2026, 90 per cent of ATMS must dispense at least one cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 denomination banknotes.

AATM fees will increase

If any transaction is performed or a balance is checked using an ATM outside the user’s home network, their charges will increase. For your information, please note that charges for using ATMS outside the home bank network will increase further from May 1st.
