Ration Card Update: Before the Aadhaar card, the ration card was considered the most important document for us. If a new member has joined your family or a member’s name is missing from your ration card, there’s no need to worry. You can now easily update it online or offline.

Required Documents

To add a new member to your ration card, some documents are required. Generally, you will need an income certificate, caste certificate, residence certificate, bank passbook, passport-size photo, and mobile number. To add the name of a new daughter-in-law, her Aadhaar card and marriage certificate will be required. To add the name of a new child, their birth certificate will be needed.

Online Name Addition Process

Go to the official website of your state’s Food Supply Department. For example, this is the link for Delhi.

Then, log in to the website or create a new login ID.

On the homepage, you will find the “Add New Member” option.

Click on it and fill out the new form.

Upload soft copies of all the required documents.

After submitting the form, you will receive a registration number, which you can use to track the status of your application.

The form and documents will be verified.

If everything is correct, the new ration card will be sent to your home within a week.

Adding a Name via Mobile App

Download the Mera Ration App 2.0 on your smartphone.

Complete Aadhaar-based OTP verification.

Set a PIN for the app, so you won’t need to verify repeatedly.

After logging in, select the “Family Details” option.

You will see the information about the existing members here. Click on “Add New Member”.

Fill out the form correctly, scan and upload all the documents.

After submission, the application will be submitted online.

You can check the status of the form on the app using the receipt number.

Offline Name Addition Process

Visit your nearest Food Supply Center. Keep all your documents with you.

Fill out the form to add a new member.

Attach the required documents.

Pay the application fee and obtain a receipt from the officer.

You can track the status of your form on the website using this receipt.

The officer will verify your form and documents.

If everything is found to be correct, the new member’s name will be added to the ration card.
