Ration Card- Big news for Ration Card holders. The government has issued a new guideline regarding ration card, under which it has now been made mandatory for every beneficiary to get the documents verified on time. If you have not yet updated the documents related to Aadhaar linking, family information or eligibility, then your name can be removed from the ration card.
Now to retain the name on the ration card, it has been made mandatory to get E-KYC done along with the documents.
The names of those beneficiaries who have not yet done E-KYC can be removed from the ration card. Some states have set deadlines for E-KYC, so any delay could prove costly.
Aadhaar linking and mobile number is also mandatory
It is necessary to link the ration card with Aadhaar and mobile, so that OTP based E-KYC is possible. You can complete the E-KYC process by visiting your nearest Common Service Centre or state portal. Not just the head, every member included in the ration card must have KYC, otherwise his or her name can be removed.
The names of those whose names appear in two places or who do not fulfil the eligibility criteria are being removed. Once E-KYC is done correctly, the cardholder will not be excluded from any scheme. The government has taken a historic and relieving decision for crores of poor and middle class families of the country in 2025.
