Ration Card Deadline– Do this work by February 28, otherwise no ration will be given

Ration Card Rules 2026: Under the Digital India Mission, efforts are underway to make government services online and transparent. In this regard, several important rules are being implemented for ration card holders. These rules not only increase transparency in ration distribution but also ensure proper delivery of services to beneficiaries.

The most important rule among these is e-KYC. This is now mandatory for ration card holders. The Bihar government has even announced that card holders who have not completed e-KYC will no longer receive rations after a certain date. Let us provide you with complete details.

What is e-KYC process and why is it necessary?

E-KYC is a digital identity verification process in which ration card holders register their identity card details, mobile number and biometric details like thumb impression. Its objective is to ensure that there is no fraud in ration distribution and food grains reach only the right people. This process makes the government ration distribution system transparent and helps in preventing fake beneficiaries. Therefore, now it is mandatory for every ration card holder in Bihar to do e-KYC.

What is the importance of getting e-KYC done on the last date and time?

  • The Bihar government has set the last date for completing e-KYC as February 28, 2026.
  •  If any ration card holder does not complete his e-KYC by this date, he may be excluded from the ration distribution system.
  • No person will get ration without e-KYC.
  • Therefore, all ration card holders are advised to complete this process as soon as possible to avoid any kind of inconvenience.

How to get e-KYC done?

The easiest way to get e-KYC done for ration card is to visit the nearest Public Distribution System (PDS) shop with the ration card and Aadhaar card.

The shopkeeper has an e-POS machine through which he will do your biometric verification.

This verification is done through your fingerprints or iris.

You will not have to pay any fee to the shopkeeper for this entire process.

This service is provided free of cost at the government level, so that every beneficiary can easily get his/her e-KYC done and there is no problem in ration distribution.

If there is any problem or need of information in the e-KYC process, then people can contact the helpline numbers issued by the Bihar Government. This helpline service is free and resolves your queries. You can get assistance related to e-KYC by calling the numbers given below: 1800-3456-194, 14445, 1967. You can get help on these numbers from morning till evening, so that the problems arising in the process can be solved easily.
