Rail Neer Price- Good news for railway passengers. Now, they’ll be able to get a liter of water on trains and at stations for only 14 rupees, not 15. A base liter bottle of water will now be available for nine rupees. This order will apply to all brands of water sold on station premises and trains, including Rail Neer, starting September 22nd.
The Railway Board issued a letter to the General Managers of all zonal railways, including North Central Railway General Manager Naresh Pal Singh, on September 20. The letter, issued by Rangarajan Anantharatnam, Deputy Director of Catering at the Railway Board, stated that the maximum retail price of a one-liter bottle of water has been reduced from Rs 15 to Rs 14, while the price of a 500 ml bottle has been reduced from Rs 10 to Rs 9.
These new prices will be effective from September 22, 2025. This decision was made with the approval of the Directorate of Finance. This move aims to reduce the financial burden on passengers by providing them with access to clean drinking water at affordable rates during their travels.
Rail Neer is Indian Railways’ own brand, produced and distributed by IRCTC. This price reduction will apply not only to Rail Neer, but also to all packaged drinking water brands sold on railway premises and in trains. This will be particularly beneficial for the millions of passengers traveling through large and busy railway stations like Prayagraj. Prayagraj consumes an average of approximately 30,000 to 40,000 liters of packaged drinking water daily, of which Rail Neer accounts for a significant portion. CPRO Shashikant Tripathi said that the reduction in prices will save passengers one rupee per bottle, which will prove to be a significant relief overall.
