New Delhi: If you are troubled by paying toll repeatedly at toll plazas on the national highway, then do not worry. Now the government has made arrangements for an annual toll pass for drivers. Meaning, by spending Rs 3000, your annual pass will be made, and you can use it 200 times. The work of ATP pre-booking has also started. ATP pre-booking work can be done easily.
For this, the driver will have to download the Highway Travel app. From August 15, drivers will start getting the pass facility at toll plazas. It will be valid only for private vehicle drivers, car vans and jeeps. It will be allowed through iOS and NHAI’s official website, e-nhai.gov.in. When will the passes be activated?
Do you know that a request can be made for ATP activation?n. Passes will be activated on Independence Day, i.e. 15 August 2025. If, for some reason, the limit of 200 times is exhausted in a few months, then the drivers can buy and activate another ATP through the app.
There are 74 toll plazas on the national highway in Tamil Nadu, whose average daily turnover ranges from Rs 3 crore to Rs 14 crore. With this, the total toll income during the financial year 2023 and 2024 has been up to Rs 4,157.96 crore.
Along with this, according to NHAI, there is no need for a separate activation request to use ATP at NHAI toll plazas. Anyway, in these apps, you will see the list of those toll plazas where ATP is applicable.
When will the toll pass be implemented? ed
According to the Ministry of National Highways, the toll pass rule will come into effect from August 15. Meaning, by spending Rs 3000 once, 200 trips will be free. If it will be applicable only on National Highways. It is expected that some state governments may also implement it on their routes, but it is likely to take a lot of time.
