PM Vishwakarma Yojana- Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana is an important initiative of the Central Government for the traditional artisans and craftsmen of the country. Under this scheme, beneficiaries are given financial assistance of Rs 500 per day, free toolkit and loan on easy terms.
The aim of the government is that people give new shape to their traditional skills and become self-reliant by starting their own business. Here we are giving all the necessary information about this scheme.
For whom is the plan
This scheme is for those people who have been doing traditional work for generations like carpenters, blacksmiths, potters, tailors, goldsmiths etc. The government wants to promote the business of these artisans by empowering them economically and technically. This will not only improve their standard of living, but will also give new life to Indian crafts and craftsmanship.
Under this scheme, the beneficiaries are given a few days of advanced training to improve their skills. During the training, the central government gives them Rs 500 every day as a stipend. This help is given so that their income is not affected during the training and they can increase their skills wholeheartedly.
How to apply
To apply in this scheme, interested beneficiaries can complete the process in two ways. For online application, one has to login by visiting pmvishwakarma.gov.in website, from where the form can be filled. For offline application, registration can be done by going to the nearest CSC center and submitting the documents. The application is accepted after confirmation of eligibility and document verification.
Toolkit and easy loan facility also included
The artisans joining the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana are provided an amount of Rs 15,000 for the toolkit, so that they can buy the necessary equipment for their work. Apart from this, they also get a loan at a low interest rate. In the first phase, a loan of up to Rs 1 lakh is given and after repaying it, eligible beneficiaries can apply for a second loan of up to Rs 2 lakh.
