With this, you will be able to save an average of ₹ 4200 every month. So let’s know everything about this revolutionary scheme, which will make Delhi green and your pocket will also remain green.
Direct benefit of ₹ 1.08 lakh
The Delhi Cabinet has given the green signal to an additional subsidy of ₹ 30,000 on installing a 3 kW rooftop solar panel. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that by adopting the ‘PM Surya Ghar Yojana’, people can save an average of ₹ 4,200 of electricity every month. To make this initiative more effective, the Delhi government has launched the ‘PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme State Top-up’ scheme.
Under this scheme, the government was already providing a subsidy of ₹78,000. Now with the Delhi government’s additional subsidy of ₹30,000, the total subsidy amount has increased to ₹1.08 lakh, which is the largest subsidy ever in any such scheme. This is a historic step that will give Delhi a new impetus towards clean energy.
Savings of ₹4200 every month
Minister Gupta stressed, “The new subsidy structure allows consumers to install solar power plants without any initial cost, which will help them save huge amounts on their electricity bills every month. This is a big step towards making Delhi more green.
” This simply means that now you will not have to spend more money from your pocket. By installing solar panels at your home, you will not only help the environment but will also be able to significantly cut down your monthly expenses.
Now anyone can install solar panels
Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that a subsidy of ₹ 30,000 for 3 kW at the rate of ₹ 10,000 per kW has been approved in the cabinet meeting. Apart from this, the Delhi government will also provide an easy loan facility in collaboration with institutions, so that the remaining cost of up to ₹ 90,000 can be repaid without any advance payment.
This means that people will not have any problem installing solar panels even without paying a lump sum amount. The government has kept a budget of ₹ 50 crore for this scheme, which shows how serious the government is about this initiative. With the tie-up with banks, people will be able to easily get loans on the fees charged for installing 100 panels.
