A large portion of the country’s population still relies on farming for their livelihoods, and this government financial assistance is the biggest support for marginal farmers. Twenty-one installments have already been released, and now millions of farmers are waiting for the 22nd installment. However, even a small mistake can delay the next installment. Many farmers assume that once registered, everything will happen automatically, but that’s not the case. We’re telling you three major mistakes that can delay your installation and how to correct them.
Errors in Aadhaar and Bank Details

Most farmers’ installments get stuck due to errors in Aadhaar and bank details. Incorrect spelling of the name on the Aadhaar card, mismatched date of birth, or Aadhaar not being linked to the bank account are major issues.
Payments can also be stopped or delayed if the bank account is closed or the IFSC code is changed. Farmers often fail to update their KYC (Know Your Customer) information with their banks, resulting in failed transactions. To avoid these complications, it’s crucial to update Aadhaar-bank linking, eKYC, and KYC on time. Also, ensure that your name and other information in bank records exactly match the Aadhaar data; otherwise, the system won’t be able to match, and the installment will be returned.

Errors in Land Records
Another serious cause of installment delays is errors in land-related documents. For many farmers, land records haven’t been updated, or the previous owner’s name is still recorded in revenue records. This error prevents the system from recognizing the farmer as eligible and delays payments.
If a family member’s land has been transferred and you haven’t updated the mutation, the information entered in the scheme is considered incorrect. Additionally, installments may be withheld for farmers whose annual income exceeds the eligibility criteria or whose land is disputed.

How to correct your errors immediately
If your installment is stuck or delayed, you should first check your status on the PM Kisan portal. To correct any errors on the portal, complete eKYC immediately and re-update your bank details. Any errors can be corrected immediately with the help of a CSC center or the Agriculture Department. The sooner you update your information, the sooner the next installment will be credited to your account.
