PM Kisan Mandhan Yojana- Good news for Indian Farmers. The biggest concern of small farmers in villages is what will be their source of income after old age. Life is spent managing farms and barns, but it becomes difficult to find permanent support in old age. In such a situation, the government has started a special initiative for farmers.
The aim of this initiative is to provide financial support to farmers even after they leave farming. Farmers who work hard day and night should be provided with a permanent income even after growing old. This scheme has been specially designed for those farmers whose income from farming is very limited.
Under this scheme, a fixed amount is given to the eligible farmer every year as pension. This will help them in meeting their daily expenses. That is, this is not just a pension but a means for farmers to live a respectable life. The name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, under which farmers will get 3 thousand rupees every month after the age of 60 years. This amount amounts to 36 thousand rupees in a year. Small and marginal farmers will benefit from this. Those who have land up to 2 hectares.
To join this scheme, farmers have to pay a premium of Rs 55 to Rs 200 every month. This amount depends on the age of the farmer. Not only this, the central government also contributes an amount equal to the contribution of the farmers. To apply, the farmer will need Aadhar card, bank passbook and land related documents. For registration, one has to go to the nearest Common Service Center, where after biometric verification and filling the form, the farmer joins the scheme.
