PM Kisan 23rd Installment: Big news for Indian Farmers. The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi initiative is being managed by the central government with the goal of doubling the income of millions of farmers across the nation. This scheme provides financial support to farmers. So far, farmers have benefited from 22 installments under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Recently, the central government has released the funds for the 22nd installment.
Millions of farmers are now eagerly anticipating the 23rd installment. To receive this, farmers need to complete their e-KYC, but that alone will not suffice. It is now essential for farmers to create a Farmer ID. Without this ID, the 23rd installment could be delayed. The government has made it clear that the upcoming installment for farmers without a unique Farmer ID may be halted.
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, farmers receive an annual amount of Rs 6,000. This sum is divided into three installments, each providing Rs 2,000. An installment is issued every four months. Up to now, farmers nationwide have received 21 installments through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. The PM Kisan Yojana was introduced by the central government in 2019.
When can we expect the 23rd installment of the PM Kisan Yojana to be released?
Farmers are currently focused on the 23rd installment. Conversations regarding the next installment have increased following the release of the 22nd installment. Various media reports indicate that the government has not yet set an official date for the 23rd installment. However, based on previous trends, it is anticipated that the installment will be available in June or July 2026.
Typically, installments under the PM Kisan Yojana are released every four months. For instance, the 21st installment was issued in November 2025, followed by the 22nd in March 2026. Therefore, the next 23rd installment is expected to be around June or July 2026. Some reports also suggest April or May, but the June-July timeframe is viewed as more probable. Occasionally, installments may be released in different months.
Unique Farmer ID mandatory
The government has mandated a unique Farmer ID under the PM Kisan Yojana. This is considered a digital identity for farmers. It includes information about their land holdings, crops grown, fertilizer use, animal husbandry data, and income. The government’s goal is to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the right farmers and prevent fraudulent registrations.
What are the benefits of Kisan ID?
Having a Kisan Identity Card provides farmers with numerous benefits. They receive fertilizer and seed subsidies on time. It also makes crop insurance claims easier. Furthermore, they eliminate the need to repeatedly submit documents for various government schemes.
These farmers do not get money
According to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, both husband and wife cannot avail the benefits of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. If anyone does so, the government will declare him/her as fraud and will recover the amount from him/her. Apart from this, if someone in the farmer’s family pays tax, then they will not get the benefit of this scheme. That is, if any of the husband or wife has paid income tax last year, then they will not get the benefit of this scheme.
Similarly, if a farmer does farming by taking land on rent from another farmer, then in such a situation, he/she will also not be able to get the benefit of the scheme. Land ownership is necessary in PM Kisan. Also, if any farmer or any member of the family is holding a constitutional post, then he/she will not get the benefit.
