The beginning of 2026 brings a silver lining for India’s millions of food providers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana), the central government will soon transfer the 22nd installment of ₹2,000 to farmers’ accounts. Although the government has not yet announced an official date, speculation is rife that farmers may receive this significant gift in February 2026.

The government has successfully released 21 installments so far under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana. According to media reports, the government may release the 22nd installment around the budget session, i.e., in the second or third week of February. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide substantial financial assistance to poor and middle-class farmers for their farming expenses.
For farmers who have been waiting for the next installment for a long time, this is the time to recheck their eligibility so that the ₹2,000 amount can be credited directly to their bank accounts at lightning speed.

e-KYC
The government has made it clear that farmers who have not yet completed the e-KYC process will not receive the 22nd installment. This step acts as a protective shield against fraud. Farmers can complete e-KYC through biometrics from home by visiting the official PM Kisan website or visiting their nearest CSC center. If you haven’t done this yet, your installment could be delayed. So, instead of waiting until February, complete it today.
Aadhaar and Bank Account Linking
To receive the 22nd installment, it is mandatory to link your bank account with your Aadhaar card. Additionally, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) must be activated in your account. Sometimes, farmers’ money gets stuck due to misspellings or dates of birth. If there are any discrepancies between your Aadhaar and bank records, immediately go to the bank and have them corrected. It’s crucial to ensure your account is in “Active” mode so that government assistance can reach you without any interruptions.

Land Verification
During the past few installments, it has been observed that millions of farmers’ funds were not received simply because their land verification was incomplete. The government is now providing benefits only to those farmers whose cultivable land records are completely accurate and updated on the portal.
If you haven’t yet physically verified your land, contact your respective accountant or tehsil office. This is a rigorous process, and it’s in your best interest to complete it on time; otherwise, your installment may be placed on the “Pending” list.

Do these things immediately to avoid installment delays
If you want your ₹2,000 installment to arrive in your account in February without any delay, make these necessary corrections today. First, go to the PM Kisan portal and check your beneficiary status. Ensure your Aadhaar is showing ‘Verified’ and e-KYC is set to ‘Yes’. If any incorrect information was entered during registration, correct it immediately using the portal’s ‘Correction’ option. Additionally, visit your bank to check if your account is mapped with NPCI.
