Petrol-Diesel Price Update – Is India Facing a Petrol Crisis? No Petrol’ Notice Goes Viral, Here’s the Truth
Petrol-Diesel Price Update: Petrol and diesel prices have witnessed yet another hike. This increase has sparked a stir among the public. A notice has been issued at a petrol pump in Chandigarh restricting the quantity of fuel dispensed. Will two-wheelers be limited to receiving fuel worth only up to ₹500? Let’s find out just how much truth lies behind this notice.
Petrol Diesel Price Update
Over the past week, the country has witnessed a rise in petrol and diesel prices. The surge in fuel costs appears to be placing a significant strain on the pockets of the common people. Oil companies have hiked prices by ₹3 per litre. These price increases were attributed to the conflict in the Middle East and the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This hike has caused considerable unease among the public. Given the persistently rising inflation, the general public appears deeply distressed.
This marks the second time in a single week that petrol and diesel prices have been raised. Amidst this situation, a notice regarding fuel rationing—limiting the quantity dispensed—was displayed at a petrol pump in Chandigarh. The appearance of this notice triggered a frenzy among the public. However, the administration has clarified that no such directives have been issued. This incident unfolds against the backdrop of apprehensions regarding a potential fuel shortage in the country in the coming days.
Petrol Limited to ₹500
According to media reports, a notice was posted at a petrol pump named ‘HG Petro Care’ in Sector 17, Chandigarh. The notice stated that two-wheelers would be supplied with fuel worth up to ₹500, while the limit for four-wheelers was capped at ₹1,500. This notice has currently become a major topic of discussion on social media. Consequently, members of the public rushed to purchase fuel.
Officials have reprimanded the petrol pump owner for displaying such a notice. Following this intervention, the poster has since been removed. Meanwhile, according to a report by *India Today*, the Chandigarh administration has categorically clarified that no such instructions have been issued. Speaking to the channel, the pump manager explained that the poster was put up due to low stock levels, as a precautionary measure to ensure the fuel supply would not run out before the next tanker arrived.
