A big update has been announced for RuPay Select Debit Card users. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has changed the rules for this debit card (New Debit Card Rules). New features and services have been introduced for users,and NPCI issued a circular about this last month.
The new rules will take effect on April 1,2025. These facilities have been introduced to meet the needs of a modern lifestyle,including benefits related to spa programs,gym sessions,railway and airport lounge access,fitness,and entertainment.
How Can Users Avail the Benefits?
These new benefits apply to the entire range of RuPay Select Debit Cards. Cardholders can easily redeem the facilities by logging into the official website at www.rupay.co.in.
Benefits Available for Cardholders
1. Lounge Access:
- One domestic lounge visit per quarter.
- Two international lounge accesses per quarter.
2. Gym Membership:
- One free gym membership each quarter.
- Users can choose from 90 days of workouts or 30 days of online sessions.

3. Insurance Coverage:
Up to ₹10 lakh insurance coverage for accidents,provided the transaction was made within the last 30 days.
4. Spa Session:
One free spa session every quarter.
5. Additional Facilities:
- Free cab service coupons.
- 1-year free membership for platforms like Amazon Prime,Hotstar,and SonyLiv.
- Free health check-up.
- Free access to a golf program.
These new facilities are designed to enhance the overall experience for RuPay Select Debit Card users.

How to Apply for a Debit Card in a Bank?
You can apply for a debit card online or by visiting a bank branch. Follow these simple steps:
1. Apply Online (For Existing Account Holders)
- Visit your bank’s official website.
- Log in to net banking or the mobile app.
- Go to ‘Request for Debit Card’ or a similar option.
- Choose your card type and submit the request.
- The card will be delivered to your address within a few days.
2. Apply Offline (For New or Existing Customers)
- Visit the nearest bank branch.
- Fill out a debit card application form.
- Submit KYC documents (Aadhaar,PAN,and address proof).
- If you’re opening a new account,the debit card will be issued with the account.
- The bank will send your debit card and PIN to your registered address.
Some banks allow instant debit card issuance at the branch itself. Check with your bank for details.
