Which scheme provides the most financial relief?
Odisha’s famous KALIA scheme and Telangana’s Raithu Bandhu scheme give more money than PM Kisan scheme, which helps farmers a lot. Let’s understand about these two schemes with the help of a table.
KALIA Scheme
This year, ‘KALIA’ and ‘Raithu Bandhu’ schemes are providing financial support to the farmers. Odisha’s KALIA scheme continues and its 11th installment was released in February 2025, benefiting small and landless farmers. Farmers with new eligibility can still apply on the portal. On the other hand, the Telangana government has restarted the Raithu Bandhu scheme as ‘Raithu Bharosa’ from January 2025, in which the annual assistance amount per acre has been increased to Rs 12,000.
How to Apply for Kalia Yojana (Odisha)
- Firstly visit the official website krushak.odisha.gov.in
- Click on the Apply Online link on the homepage
- Enter Aadhaar number and click on Show button
- Fill the application form and upload the required documents
- After submission, you will receive an application number — keep it safe for future reference

- Ration Card / Income Certificate
- Passport size photo
Offline Option: You can get the form from the Gram Panchayat office or Agriculture Department and submit it there.

The condition of Uttar Pradesh and other states
In many states including Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, there is no major scheme for direct cash assistance to farmers other than PM Kisan. Government schemes are mainly limited to benefits like subsidy on seeds, fertilizers, agricultural equipment. There is a constant demand from farmer organizations that the Center and the states should also bring cash transfer based schemes like these.
