UPTET 2026 Notification OUT: If you are preparing for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), registration is set to begin shortly. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has released the official notification for the UP Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026. If you wish to appear for the UP TET examination, you can register by visiting the official website at updeled.gov.in
The Commission is scheduled to commence the online registration process during the last week of March. The online registration window will open on March 27, 2026. Interested candidates for the TET can apply during this period, which will remain open for 1 month. The deadline for submitting applications has been set for April 26.
What are the Eligibility Criteria for TET?
To appear for the TET examination, candidates must fulfil specific mandatory criteria. Candidates are required to have graduated from a recognised institution. Additionally, to apply for the TET examination for Classes 1 to 5, candidates must possess a D.El.An Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) qualification; whereas to apply for the TET examination for Classes 6 to 8, candidates are required to hold a D.El.Ed., B.Ed., or B.El.Ed degree.
Applications will not be considered valid if the candidate does not possess the requisite degree. The examination pattern is also a crucial aspect for candidates to note. In this examination, candidates will be asked 150 questions, carrying a total of 150 marks, covering subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. There is no provision for negative marking for incorrect answers in this examination.
What is the Pattern for Classes 6 to 8?
For the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, the pattern for Classes 6 to 8 differs slightly. In this section, candidates will be asked questions on subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Social Sciences.
In the examination, one mark will be awarded for every correct answer. No marks will be deducted for incorrect answers to any question. The duration of the examination has been set at 2 hours and 30 minutes.
On Which Day Will the Exam Be Held?
For your information, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission is scheduled to conduct the examination on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026. To participate in the exam, the Exam City Slip will be issued on June 22, 2026.
