Driving License Update: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a digital initiative to make transport department services easier and more accessible for the state’s citizens. People can now avail of transport department services through more than 1.5 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) located in cities, towns, and villages. Over 48 services are now available through these centres, eliminating the need for citizens to visit RTO offices.

Services such as driving licenses, vehicle registration, license renewal, pollution-related NOCs, permits, and international driving permits can now be obtained conveniently at these CSCs. Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh stated that this initiative aims to extend digital facilities to rural areas, eliminate intermediaries, and simplify transport services.
Under this initiative, a digital bus tracking app, ‘Margdarshi’, and a helpline number, 149, have also been launched. This allows citizens to view the live location of buses and register any problems or complaints directly. The minister informed that a minimum fee of only Rs. 30 has been set for services at the Common Service Centres, which is significantly less than the expenses incurred when visiting RTO offices.
