Aadhaar Card Update: The Aadhaar card has become a mandatory identification document for Indian citizens. From government schemes to banking, mobile connections, and essential documents, Aadhaar is required almost everywhere. Therefore, it has become difficult for those who haven’t yet obtained their Aadhaar card to postpone the process any longer. However, many people still believe that getting an Aadhaar card requires standing in long lines and visiting offices repeatedly, while the reality is quite different.
The process of getting an Aadhaar card has become much easier than before. UIDAI has launched an online facility that allows you to start the Aadhaar application process from home and then visit the center at a scheduled time to complete the necessary procedures.

How to apply for Aadhaar from home
To apply for an Aadhaar card, first, you need to visit the official UIDAI website: myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. On the website’s homepage, you will find the option for “New Aadhaar” or “Book Appointment,” clicking on which will open the application form.
In the application form, you need to carefully fill in your personal information. This includes your name, date of birth, address, gender, and other basic details. All the information must be accurate according to your documents to avoid any errors later.
Visit a nearby Aadhaar center
After filling out the form, the system will show you a list of Aadhaar enrollment centers near you. You can select the nearest center according to your convenience. At this stage, you will be asked to upload or select documents related to your identity proof, address proof, and date of birth so that your information can be verified.
Fees and Appointment Process
A nominal enrollment fee of Rs. 50 is usually charged for obtaining a new Aadhaar card. This fee is paid online. No additional charges are typically levied at the Aadhaar center. After this, you can choose your preferred date and time for the appointment slot.
What to do at the Aadhaar center
On the scheduled day and time, you need to reach the selected Aadhaar center. It is essential to carry your original identity proof, address proof, and date of birth documents with you. If an Aadhaar card is being made for a child, their birth certificate is mandatory. At the enrollment center, your biometric information, such as your photograph, fingerprints, and iris scan, will be collected.
When and how will you receive your Aadhaar card?
After the biometric process is complete, your Aadhaar application is successfully registered. Within a few weeks, the Aadhaar card will be sent to your address via post. You can also download an e-Aadhaar online, which is valid everywhere.
