Ration Card- Big news for Ration Card holders. The government has taken a key decision to further modernize the ration system in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Civil Supplies Department already started to accepting applications for new ration cards from May 7. This was announced by the Minister of the Department, Nadendla Manohar himself. This is a good opportunity for those who want to make changes to their old cards and those who need a new ration card.

Who can apply? What changes can be made? People can benefit in many ways through this process. Specifically, those who want to apply for a new ration card for the first time, those who want to add new members to an existing card or remove old ones, those who have changed their address, those who have separated from a family, those who want a separation card, all these changes can be made in the application process started from May 7. The minister said that a period of one month will be given for the application.

This time the government has put an end to the traditional ration cards. Smart ration cards with QR codes will be issued to everyone. These smart cards will have the names of the family members clearly printed on them. Scanning the QR code on the card will show the details of the ration taken for the last six months. The system has been designed to enable people to take ration anywhere in the country. This can be said to be a key step towards making the ration distribution system across the state digitally based and transparent.

According to the details given by the Civil Supplies Minister, these smart ration cards will be distributed from June. The government has planned to provide these cards to 4.24 crore people across the state. Officials believe that this will make the distribution of ration items faster, more accurate and easier.

In this context, Minister Nadendla Manohar gave another clarification. He said that families who have already completed the ‘KYC’ process do not need to re-apply. He said that smart cards will be made based on their details and made available at the respective distribution centers without them having to do anything. This new ration card system will provide many benefits to the citizens. It will reduce negligence and errors at ration centers, it will be very useful for migrant laborers, employees and students who work as daily wage workers due to the facility of collecting ration anywhere, and it will also make it easier for the government to track and monitor the distribution of ration items.
