The central government has introduced the FASTag Annual Pass from 15 August 2025. Through this pass, you can avail toll-free travel on all National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE) of the country for one year or up to 200 trips for just ₹ 3, 000. This service is a big gift for all those who travel on highways daily or frequently.
Toll-free travel throughout the year for ₹ 3, 000
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) says that the purpose of this scheme is to eliminate the hassle of paying toll repeatedly and save both time and money for the passengers.
Who can get this pass?
Not everyone will get this pass, but there are some conditions for it.
- This pass is available only to private car, jeep, or van owners.
- Commercial vehicles will not get this facility.
- The vehicle information will be verified from the ‘Vahan Database’.
- If you provide wrong information or misuse the pass, it will be closed immediately.
Where will you get the annual pass
The process of getting this pass is very easy. You can apply in the ways given below.
- Apply through the Highway Travel Mobile App.
- Apply online by visiting the NHAI website.
- Pay a fee of ₹3, 000 online.
- After verification, the pass will be activated in about 2 hours.
How will this pass work
Once your pass is activated, it will work in these ways. It will work toll-free on all national highways and expressways. After completion of 200 trips or completion of one year, the pass will automatically turn into a normal FASTag. This pass will work like a normal tag on state highways, local roads, and parking, and its fee will be deducted there.
How will the trips be counted
It is also important to know how your trips will be counted. In an open toll system (where there is only one toll plaza),every time you cross, the toll will be considered as one trip. In a closed toll system (where there is a toll at both entry and exit),one entry-exit will be considered as one trip.
